This Capricorn New Moon on December 23 comes one day after the Winter Solstice and includes Venus, Mercury and Pluto all conjunct in Capricorn, along with Jupiter entering Aries for the second time this year. Both Capricorn and Aries are Cardinal signs, corresponding to new beginnings and taking action, while the solstice begins a return to longer days and eventually warmer temperatures here in the northern hemisphere. Jupiter will speed through Aries until mid-May, improving things that started for you in May of 2022.
Capricorn reminds us that hard work eventually brings us closer to our goals and that our choices and actions have consequences. For many people a new calendar year initiates a period of re-evaluation and setting new goals. Capricorn energy supports this, but works best by breaking things down into small and manageable steps. During this New Moon, Jupiter, the planet of expansion and growth squares both the Sun and Moon from fiery Aries, motivating us to move quickly and jump right in. There may be a few internal battles between these two influences as we move through the end of the month. You may experience great ups and downs in your energy and motivation during this next week, but thinking about consequences both short and long term will help.
This upcoming lunar cycle looks to be an interesting time with lots of planetary change for the better. Mercury turns retrograde on December 29, 2022, lasting until January 18, 2023 in the sign of Capricorn. This may stall or slow some of your plans and communications until Mars turns direct on January 12, 2023. Expect the middle two weeks of January to bring momentum and progress as most of the planets will be in forward motion, with Uranus bringing up the rear and turning direct on January 22, 2023. Make plans, set goals, and keep in mind that obstacles will clear, and the path forward will become easier as all the retrogrades finish. By the new moon in Aquarius on January 21, 2023 we may all feel a great deal of clarity and forward motion on those goals set for 2023, and in life in general
So many thanks to you for supporting my work, and heartfelt wishes to each and every one of you for a happy holiday season and happy new year.
