We’re in for some big changes over these next weeks starting with Mars moving into fiery Leo along with Mercury in Aries. These two energies represent passionate, creative, and enthusiastic action and thought. We’re in a good time to move from dreams, and fantasies to action and expression. The April 27th new moon in Taurus accentuates the “new” cycle and brings the pragmatic energy of “the builder” into play, supporting your new projects. The unpredictability of the eclipses is winding down and almost all the retrogrades are behind us, except for Pluto on May 5th.  On April 30th Venus will enter Aries following Neptune which entered Aries March 29, and preceding Saturn moving into Aries on May 25th. This is a dramatic shift in energy, from water to fire, from passive to active, and from universal to singular.

Taurus energy is fixed earth, representing a drive for stability and security that is so important to people with Sun, Moon and Ascendant in Taurus. Making plans, proceeding with caution, thinking things through, and seeking comfort all represent the earth side of Taurus. Fierce determination, working hard with great focus are manifestations of the fixed element. Because of the fixed energy, people with strong Taurus in their charts can struggle with change, spontaneity, and sheer stubbornness.

On the day of the new moon the luminaries are making a square to Pluto and to Mars, creating a T square energy of destabilization and confrontation. These two planets, Mars and Pluto have been creating oppositions since November 6th, 2024, starting just after the presidential election, due to the retrograde motion of Mars. Mars energy brings resistance and push back, and can also represent anger and fighting, while Pluto tends to intensify all issues around who has power. Because this aspect begins to wane by the full moon on May 12th, we may notice some shifts where what has looked like the absolute power of the current administration starts to crumble.
